How to Support
Cristo Rey Charleston High School is a private school that does not charge tuition. Our innovative Corporate Work Study Program allows students to earn much of the cost of their own education. Additionally, students’ families contribute based on their ability to pay. The remaining cost of educating the student comes from supporters like you.
We ask you to match our students' energy, commitment, and determination by making a gift to our school. Your gift will impact the lives of our students, their families, and ultimately their communities.
Cristo Rey Charleston High School is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and your contributions are fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. Tax ID: 84-3785382.

However, a portion of it can be shared a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) – transferring a given amount from your IRA directly to a charitable organization such as Cristo Rey Charleston High School. This reduces your taxable income, satisfies your required minimum distribution, and makes a difference in the lives of our students. Please consult your tax advisor to determine if a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA is right for you. You can also designate Cristo Rey Charleston High School as a remainder beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement plan accounts, for all or a portion of the proceeds after your lifetime. Contact your legal or financial advisor with questions. Please also contact Carrie Mummert to let us know your intentions.

6. Matching Gifts

7. Angel Investor for Corporate Work Study
Angel Investors do “double the good” by paying the CWS fee so that students can work at area non-profit organizations. Not only are Angel Investors providing students with meaningful work experience, but they are also making it possible for non-profit organizations to enhance their workforce and increase their impact.
8. Student Scholarships
Revenue from the CWS program covers approximately 60% of the cost of educating a student. While families contribute, the bulk of the remaining cost is provided through the generous support of our donors. A commitment to Student Scholarships covers the gap in the cost-to-educate for all four years of a student’s time at Cristo Rey Charleston High School. Contact Carrie Mummert to learn more.
